The City of Escondido operates its Aquatics programs out of two pool facilities conveniently located through out the City. Each facility is home to our Open Swim and Learn to Swim programs.

Lap Swim 
 
Our Lap Swim hours have expanded this Summer Season!

These outdoor activities are the perfect way to support physical distancing and improve health and wellbeing. So whether you've been swimming for years, or are looking to incorporate something new into your fitness routine come visit us at James Stone Pool!

Fees: $5 drop in - cash only, due at the pool

          $40 Punch pass of 10 swims -Click here to purchase online or $40 cash due at the pool 

 

Season Dates: 6/1-12/31/2021

 

Season Times:

Tuesday and Thursday 7 -10 a.m.

Saturday and Sunday 8-10 a.m.

 

Info/ Policies:

  • Lap Swim is now available on a first come first served basis
  • A maximum of 24 lap swimmers are allowed in the water at once
  • Lanes are nonreservable and must be split if necessary
  • You may stay for any duration of the lap swim times stated above
  • Punch passes are still valid and are used upon check in at the facility
 
 
Open Swim 
 
Our Open Swim program is designed for recreational swimmers of all ages and abilities! Children under eight years must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the deck, in locker room, and in the pool. Children who are not toilet trained must wear vinyl pants or a swim diaper.
Swim diapers are sold at the pool for $3.
 
Fees: 10 Entry Family Pass - $40 - Click here to purchase online 
           Single Drop in - $5 per person

Swim Lessons:

The City of Escondido's Learn to Swim Program is one of the most popular services our department offers. Each year our certified swim instructors teach hundreds of community members this essential life skill. We take great pride in being a trusted source in aquatic safety for our community and look welcome you to come and participate this season!

Cost:  $35 for traditional youth learn to swim programs    

          $60 for adult and teen learn to swim programs        

          $120 for 30 minute private swim instruction

 

 

Learn to Swim Scholarship Information: 

We are currently accepting applications for our waitlist until more classes become available.
 
To qualify for a Learn to Swim Scholarship download this form in English or Spanish, and email it to recreation@escondido.org to set up an appointment.

  • Must be able to provide proof of residency in the City of Escondido. A state issued ID or utility bill with your name are some documents that will be accepted.
  • Must be able to provide proof of income. Tax documents or pay stubs are acceptable documents. 
  •  To qualify for our Learn to Swim Scholarship your family income must fall in one of the below categories.
