Escondido Creek Trail Temporary Closures and Access Updates
Upcoming work
Construction continues along the Creek Trail, with active work zones throughout the project area. Here’s what you can continue to expect through next week:
- Potholing to prepare for electrical work between Ash Street and Midway Drive on the south side.
- Drip irrigation installation and cross connection testing between Juniper and Fig Streets.
- Irrigation excavation and installation between Elm Street and Midway Drive on the south side.
- Curb installation to hold decorative pavers in place at Date Street on the north side.
- Installation of shade structures and exercise equipment at Elm Street on the north side.
Trail users should anticipate the following impacts:
- Periodic daytime full closures between Ash Street and Midway Drive.
- A continued long-term closure at Date Street on both sides of the creek during improvement work.
- Day-to-day temporary closures between Elm Street and Midway Drive on the south side during irrigation trenching.
Adjacent projects: Emergency Truck Sewer Replacement:
- Emergency repairs continue and will have very minimal impacts near the Creek Trail project limits. For more information, visit the project website.
Please pay attention to road signs in the area for the most up-to-date information on Creek Trail access.
Recently completed
Crews continue to make steady progress along the Escondido Creek Trail, completing several key improvements over the past few weeks:
- Exercise equipment installation at Beech Street.
- “Resilience” mural between Rose and Harding Streets.

About the project
Construction for the Escondido Creek trail began in February 2025. Work will take place from Citracado Parkway to North Midway Drive, with construction generally moving from west to east. The project is expected to be completed in late 2025, pending any unforeseen delays. Construction hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the exception of city-recognized holidays.
