The Downtown Escondido Makeover Continues: Grand Avenue

Construction Updates

With the recent storms behind us, construction is back in full swing along Grand Avenue! This week, crews are continuing work on the landscaping portions of the project, including adding trees and ground cover to Subphases 1 and 2. They are also continuing the installation of decorative fencing in Subphase 2. Paving in Subphase 3, between Maple and Broadway, was briefly paused due to weather but resumed this week. Crews are also pouring new, wider sidewalks in Subphase 3, enhancing pedestrian access.

Traffic Reminders: Grand Avenue is closed to through traffic between Kalmia and Maple, including the intersection at Grand Avenue and Broadway. Drivers can take the alternate routes available at Valley Parkway and 2nd Avenue. Please be aware of traffic control signs and allow extra time for travel in the area. Pedestrians walking near Broadway should remain on the designated walkways for your safety and the safety of others. Thank you for your patience as we complete the latest upgrades along Grand Avenue.
