Construction updates
We're thrilled to announce a major milestone in our Grand Avenue transformation project as Subphase 2, stretching from Kalmia to Broadway, nears completion. By the end of this week, the newly expanded sidewalks will be finished, marking a significant enhancement to the street's walkability and accessibility. We invite you to experience these improvements firsthand as you explore the evolving landscape of Grand Avenue. Please note, that vehicle traffic from Kalmia to Broadway will still remain closed until the end of construction.
Progress continues steadily in Subphase 3, between Broadway and Maple, where our new traffic circle is taking shape. This week, our crews are beginning curb and gutter work, carefully maintaining uninterrupted access to local businesses throughout construction. In the coming weeks, you'll see the traffic circle emerge as a key feature that will significantly improve traffic flow along Grand Avenue. We remain on schedule to complete Subphase 3 in Spring 2025, unveiling the fully transformed Grand Avenue.
Traffic Reminders: As we work to complete these final stages, we want to remind our community about important traffic updates. The intersection at Broadway and Grand Avenue is temporarily closed, with alternate routes available via Valley Parkway and 2nd Avenue. While the Kalmia traffic circle is now open and through traffic has been restored from Juniper to Kalmia, please note that the section from Kalmia to Maple remains closed to vehicles during Subphase 3 construction. Pedestrians near the Broadway intersection should stay alert and follow posted signage, using designated walkways for safety. We deeply appreciate your continued patience and support as we work to create a more vibrant, welcoming, and beautiful Grand Avenue for our entire community.
