Cindy Ahler

Cindy is a fourth-generation California native, born in Escondido and raised in coastal North County. She took her first ballet classes through the City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation Department and went on to study with several renowned teachers throughout California. She is a graduate of San Diego State University and attended the Dance Masters of America teacher training school. Cindy began her teaching career at Palomar Family YMCA.

Cindy has been teaching ballet for the City of Escondido since 1990. The program has grown under Cindy's instruction. She organizes a yearly recital for her classes that takes place in June. In 2000, the recital was moved to the Escondido Center for the Arts, and each year nearly 1,000 seats are filled by family members and friends. Her adult ballet classes have also expanded and many of the ladies have been with her for more than five years. This is also true of the children in her classes. Many have been with her from early elementary school age to college age.
